Programs Offered

TAG is a hands on program where youth acquire and learn skills through activities. TAG stands for Technology Arts and Garden. Through Technology youth will learn computer skills, camera handling, focus on taking pictures. Arts youth can express themselves through drawing, painting murals learning about color schemes. Gardens youth will learn about seedlings, planting medicinal plants. Soil etc.. Youth will also harvest, cook and eat.

The PennRSSA Summer Academy is a virtual incentive program for rising high school seniors. Working with current Penn graduate students, Summer Academy participants will enhance their college and career readiness through a mix of live Zoom sessions, four asynchronous courses, and a Capstone Project. Program highlights include exposure to diverse career paths (e.g., medicine, law, engineering, education, social work) and help with key college application materials, including an essay and resume.

Pennsylvania School For The Deaf

The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf provides work opportunities for Deaf/hard-of-hearing youth who use American Sign Langauge. Youth work with Deaf and hearing adults fluent in ASL on campus in crews (restaurant, newsletter, car care service-learning entrepreneurship and internship). Goals are for participants to develop team working task completion, and reflective practices that will allow them to gain and retain future employment. All Deaf/HOH participants fluent in ASL are welcome.

People For People, Inc.

People for People, Inc. serves as a Provider for the WorkReady Summer 2022 program sponsored by Philadelphia Youth Network. We provide summer work opportunities to youth ages 16 to 19. Participants will work 20 hours per week at a pay rate of $11.00 hourly. Our program begins July 6th and runs through August 12th. Opportunities will be available in varying industries. Philadelphia Academies

Our program providers internship opportunities in early childhood education having students interning at childcare centers. We also offer internships in the hospitality sector.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation hire youth, ages 14-24, to work in a variety of areas. Most youth will work at local neighborhood recreation centers as summer camp counselors (youth should go to the center where they are interested in working and speak with the supervisor to determine if a position is available). Other positions may be available assisting with recreation programming, administrative functions and special programs (art camp, fish hatchery, Jr. park rangers and Dell Music Center)

The Workshop School WorkReady Summer programs are specifically targeted towards current Workshop School students. Our summer programs are an extension and expansion of work that students participate in during the academic year. For this reason, our summer program opportunities are limited to Workshop School students only. We have not yet confirmed the program offerings for summer 2022 and will provide an updated program description in early March.

Project Home

Project HOME's Teen & College Access Program is an afterschool program for students in grades 9th-12th. We offer electives including robotics, film & photography, digital music, and college access preparation. During the summer months the Teen & College Access Program hosts a summer internship program and teens are allowed to earn an hourly wage while developing their professional skills. Once a student completes high school they are presented an additional opportunity to a receive scholarship.
