Programs Offered

Our program aims to prepare youth for the workforce, explore career interests, and build work - related skills while supplementing income. Our program runs six weeks with youth working 20-25 hours weekly (this is the nor however exception can be made). Youth can perform Service Learning or Real Work Experience while enhancing community involvement and academic enrichment.

Participants research, develop, and present a business plan in fields ranging from clothing design to multimedia production while participating in workshops centered on topics including public speaking and interviewing. Our program implements the use of 3D printers, a recording studio, clothing press machines, and other exciting aspects of our Boys & Girls Club.

Catholic Social Services Summer Work Ready programming offers two program levels for youth to engage with, an incentive based early program for youth ages 12-15 and our wage earning positions for youth ages 14 and up. Worksites are throughout the city and cover a range of opportunities including; Summer Camp positions, IT Intern program, Office assistants, Working with Community Organizations, Small Business Interns, and a few more! This program introduces students to design thinking, the basics of developing a startup, and the fundamentals of web development. It is partially asynchronous and meets once a week for 1.5 hours where students receive live instruction on key concepts. Students will work independently to identify a problem & users affected, conduct user and problem validation, build a wireframe, and learn HTML & CSS to build 5-page static website. They will also prepare a final presentation of their site.

The goal of FNC's Summer Internship program is to connect young adults, with an internships in their dream career field. Whether you hope to be an entrepreneur, a chef, a nurse or a graphic designer our hope is to connect you with an internship in the field of your dreams. We hope that this program inspires you to follow your dreams and gain critical skills, mentorships and experiences in your chosen career filed that will help take your ambitions from dream to a reality.

The School District Of Philadelphia - Start Up Edu

Startup EDU is a four week program in which students gain an entrepreneurial mindset. Students will gain the skills needed to start a business by learning the integral skills needed when becoming an entrepreneur. Students will learn concepts such as presentation skills, targeting a market, finances and budgeting and much more! Students that successfully complete this program will receive a stipend.

UAC’s Summer Youth Employment Program provides paid summer job opportunities and valuable work experience to youth ages 14-18 through the WorkReady program. This six-week program provides career exposure, on-the-job mentoring and professional development. UAC’s youth participants have the opportunity to explore a range of career tracks, including Finance, Banking and Investing, Science and Technology, Civics and Social Justice, Entrepreneurship and Business, and the Creative and Expressive Arts
