Our program aims to prepare youth for the workforce, explore career interests, and build work - related skills while supplementing income. Our program runs six weeks with youth working 20-25 hours weekly (this is the nor however exception can be made). Youth can perform Service Learning or Real Work Experience while enhancing community involvement and academic enrichment.

This program is available
Our AAU Summer Program develops the leadership skills of Asian American youths and provides literacy-based multicultural education and community engagement. Youth leaders actively develop their leadership and community engagement skills by taking part in team building activities, community projects and weekly hands-on workshops taught by AAU’s lead staff team on topics such as: multicultural education pedagogy, social justice issues and Asian American history.

This voice and choice project will focus greatly on the 21st century skills, and the character development phase of the career development framework. The young people will enhance their skills of communication as a 21st century tool to research candidates, professions, and requirements to fulfill the respective careers. Our program will connect to broader citywide goals and efforts by exposing at-risk participants to vital skills required for them to become leaders.

Catholic Social Services Summer Work Ready programming offers two program levels for youth to engage with, an incentive based early program for youth ages 12-15 and our wage earning positions for youth ages 14 and up. Worksites are throughout the city and cover a range of opportunities including; Summer Camp positions, IT Intern program, Office assistants, Working with Community Organizations, Small Business Interns, and a few more! The goal of FNC's Summer Internship program is to connect young adults, with an internships in their dream career field. Whether you hope to be an entrepreneur, a chef, a nurse or a graphic designer our hope is to connect you with an internship in the field of your dreams. We hope that this program inspires you to follow your dreams and gain critical skills, mentorships and experiences in your chosen career filed that will help take your ambitions from dream to a reality.

The Ambassador program at Independence Seaport Museum provides hands-on learning experiences for high school students. Students who participate will learn to lead citizen science programs for the public and conduct daily water testing. They will, in turn, become ambassadors in their own community, highlighting the importance of our waterways and need to keep them clean.

We offer work experience opportunities in the fields of Education and Community & Civic Engagement. Youth interested in Education will have opportunities to be Junior Camp Counselors working with children from 1st to 5th grades at one of our two Summer Camp programs. Youth interested in Community & Civic Engagement will have opportunities to work in our Literacy Rich Neighborhood project. The youth will work with urban development planners and network specialists.

Students Talking About Relationships (STAR) is all about working together to build a better world. You will learn about Teen Dating Violence, and how it is connected to other types of violence happening around the city, and work together with other teens to create a project to make a change. STAR is open to teens from across the city, if you care about your community and want to make a change, this is the job for you.

The Workshop School WorkReady Summer programs are specifically targeted towards current Workshop School students. Our summer programs are an extension and expansion of work that students participate in during the academic year. For this reason, our summer program opportunities are limited to Workshop School students only. We have not yet confirmed the program offerings for summer 2022 and will provide an updated program description in early March.
