WorkReady Summer Programs

We will only accept youth who we share our code with. Building 21's WorkReady Program is open to students of Building 21 High School, Alumni and students participating in Launchpad. Launchpad students will engage in a technology related summer experience. Building 21 students and alumni will be matched with a placement connected to their career interest area.

We will only accept youth who we share our code with. Our program is a comprehensive program that will allow participants to gain knowledge of a variety of skills-based on the worksite assigned. Skills that may be learned, fashion, community service, education and more.

​Working for Success is a program designed to help young people achieve their dream careers. We ask our young people what they want to be when they grow up, and we do everything in our power to give them an internship within that career field. We have a 90% placement in the top two career choices of our young people. We hope to not only expose our young people to careers and opportunities that fit within their dream, but to nurture and support their passion into a vision and a path to get there

We will only accept youth who we share our code with. The Netter Center & Philadelphia Youth Network School-Year and Summer WorkReady Programs recruit current 6th–12th graders ages 12 and up in Philadelphia to participate in a unique internship experience. Students will learn about a variety of career and college pathways, engage in professional development sessions and participate in virtual trips and guest speaker sessions to increase their knowledge and understanding of different careers. Students who are selected will be eligible for a stipend.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is actively recruiting and hiring teens/ young adults to work this summer for the WorkReady Program. Interested Philadelphia Resident ages 14-24 should stop in their local recreation center/playground to apply with site supervisor and to obtain the application process. Proper documentation, clearances, vaccination requirements and application procedures must be successfully completed in a timely manner to be approved to work each summer.

We will only accept youth who we share our code with. Philadelphia Freedom Schools was born out of the Freedom Summer of 1964. It exists to build intellectual, cultural, civic, and political capacity of children and youth in order to make meaningful strides for themselves, their families, their schools, communities and the larger society. For years, it has been apparent that while the mandate of the Freedom School has been to develop in children a love for reading, the Junior Servant Leader Project has taken that concept several steps further.

The School District of Philadelphia, through The Office of Career and Technical Education, will provide summer employment and enrichment opportunities for high school students between 14 and 18 years of age. The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Employment Program is an innovative program that affords CTE students, who currently attend Philadelphia Public Schools, the opportunity to gain valuable work experiences and develop meaningful skills that can be used in their future careers.

The School District of Philadelphia, through The Office of Career and Technical Education, will provide summer employment and enrichment opportunities for high school students between 14 and 18 years of age. Our WorkReady program is an extension of our innovative one-year Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources CTE program. Youth engage in service learning on sustainable product making: food waste & composting; food safety (serve-safe food handler certification); and many options for natural resources projects. All participants engage in small business accelerator activities, financial literacy, food growing and cooking and product making, marketing, and sales. And field trips!
