Asian Americans United

AAU has two summer youth programs. The Chinese Youth Organizing Project is for Mandarin speaking high school aged youth. The AAU Summer Program is a pan-Asian, English-speaking high-school youth. During these intensive six-week programs focused on leadership development and social justice engagement in Philadelphia's Asian communities youth take part in hands-on workshops and projects on topics such as: neighborhood development, immigrant rights, stereotypes, gender inequality, and more.

Boys & Girls Clubs Of Philadelphia

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia's Summer WorkReady program provides youth with an opportunity to work with BGCP's summer camp program to learn more about BGCP, the youth we serve, and the surrounding communities. WorkReady participants will work with summer camp youth under the guidance of BGCP staff members. Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, professional skills, and a chance to work with children in their community.

Catholic Social Services Program will focus on participants helping design with the adult guides. During orientation sessions participants will identify areas of interest for their career goals. Working with the guidance of the staff they will identify the steps, opportunities and skills that will best help them achieve it. Creating a tangible road map for them to use as they progress on their journey beyond the summer program. As they achieve benchmarks within this they will earn an incentive.

Catholic Social Services Intermediate Program will focus on providing supported early employment experiences through a variety of work locations. Some sites will be with youth programs, small businesses, and information technology opportunities, we are working to recruit more high quality sites for youth to have a variety of options. Weekly virtual sessions will be paired with this to help participants create a portfolio of their experience and reflect on their interests for future planning.

Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia (CEA) continues its partnership with WorkReady Summer, to offer a 6-week summer work experience opportunity for 14-24 year olds. Interested participants will gain employability skills working at one of CEA's worksites in the industries of Maintenance & Operations, Information Technology, Family Support Services, Administration, Marketing, Business/Compliance, Education/Daycare and College & Career Readiness.

CORA Services' YouthCOR Work Ready program works to prepare high school youth for the world of work. Through in-person work experiences in various work sites, including summer camps programs, day care centers and CORA's own IT or Facilities departments, participants will have an opportunity to learn critical skills necessary to obtain, maintain and excel in their next job. In-person and virtual trainings and professional development workshops will further help students develop skills.

The Summer Youth Works Program employs Philadelphia youth for six weeks during the summer. Summer youth workers are expected to work 20 hours a week for six weeks. Each year students complete a service-learning project around a specific theme. The program is designed to give high school students real work experience while enhancing community involvement and academic achievement. Students also participate in skills development activities, workshops, and field trips.

Educators 4 Education

The E4E WorkReady program focused on service learning and Work Force Development. Youth (ages 14 to 24) participated in the program working hands at community sites throughout the six week program. Participants worked in early childhood centers/summer camps and recreational programs, throughout Philadelphia. Youth also receive professional development skills.

Youth at the 8th & Poplar Farm, can expect to work both independently as well as in a group, to help with all aspects of the farm- from seeding and planting, to harvesting. Youth will help lead our farm stand where we sell everything we grow to our local community. We will also learn spend time learning about healthy lifestyles and how to cook using the food directly from the garden.
