Pennsylvania School For The Deaf

PSD subcontracts with the Philadelphia Youth Network, to provide a 20-day summer work experience for students of high school age. PSD, hires 21 city resident students and 10 who live outside the city of Philadelphia (PSD pays for the students who are not covered by PYN. The objective of PYN @ PSD is for students to have work experience in a communicatively accessible environment as a step toward work readiness.The students must fluent in American Sign Language and be Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

Philadelphia Academies, Inc.’s WorkReady summer experience supports students in a broad range of industry interests (such as Early Childhood Education, Construction Trades, Business, and Tourism and Hospitality) to have the opportunity for quality internship experiences in their field of interest, supplemented by PAI Staff led workshops on professionalism, personal branding, financial management, and more.

Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation

We will only accept youth who we share our code with. PCDC's Summer WorkReady program is a 6-week internship which offers students opportunities to be exposed to different career fields to help explore potential career paths. This program helps build connections and exposes them to working at a non-profit organization. Each student at PCDC will be given an important role that works towards our mission statement of preserving, protecting, and promoting Chinatown as a viable ethnic, residential, and business community.

This program is full and not accepting applications. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is actively recruiting and hiring teens/ young adults to work this summer for the WorkReady Program. Interested Philadelphia Resident ages 14-24 should stop in their local recreation center/playground to apply with site supervisor and to obtain the application process. Proper documentation, clearances, vaccination requirements and application procedures must be successfully completed in a timely manner to be approved to work each summer.

Project Home

Our Program is full and not accepting additional youth. Students in our summer program will be placed across Project HOME and our other non-profit partner sites to participate in service-oriented work. In the past, students have worked for Project HOME residential sites, education programs, human resources, community centers, medical centers, and gift store. Partner non-profit sites include Chosen 300 Ministries, Depaul USA, and Share Food. Students will have the option to select from different work-related preferences and will be paired accordingly.

Public Health Management Corporation Project Lyft

Project L.Y.F.T. (Leading Youth For Tomorrow) is a dynamic hands-on Out-of-School Time (OST) and summer program that provides opportunities for middle and high school aged youth to advance their knowledge in media technology and social media content creation through engaging, project-based, student-centered learning & activities on the middle school level and technology, engineering, and college/career/workforce focused programming to 9th-12th grade students on the high school level.

Pyn Managed Summer Program

Our internships will offer higher-level opportunities for youth with prior employment and/or leadership experience. These wage-bearing experiences, which are designed for youth with prior work or leadership experience, will provide youth with exposure to professional careers otherwise not accessible to the teenage population, opportunities to develop and refine targeted 21st-century skills, and engagement in ongoing, professional-development workshops.
